The Oak Ledged Doors are available in standard sizes or made to measure. They have three Chamfered Oak Ledges, Tongue and Groove Boards with a Bead Mould detail to the front and back of the doors. The Ledges are screwed and pelleted for maximum strength. The ledges are also set in from the edge of the door, unlike cheaper doors made abroad.

The timber is carefully selected from European Oak, knots are filled and the doors arrived in a sanded finish, ready to be oiled.

Browns Oak Doors can also be offered in a fumed and oiled finish. Fuming is generally acknowledged as a superior alternative to staining achieving a look that would take years to create.

Rosehead nails can be fitted to the face of the boards for decoration. These are optional, at an extra charge. We offer all of the ironmongery fittings required, please see the gallery below to view our range.

Windows can be added to plank doors to increase light into a room or simply just to add character to your doors. Please be aware that the location of the window sits between the ledges.

Cottage oak plank doors can be made to odd shapes and sizes too as many old properties have unusual openings. This can be done here in our workshop or from a drawing or template. Alternatively the top ledge can be sent loose for the door to be cut in on site by your carpenter.

Browns can supply you with made to measure cupboard doors in oak or MDF for painting. As many homes often have under the stairs doors and bespoke storage requirements we are more than happy to offer you with the doors that you need. The plank doors can be hung from butt hinges or tee hinges.

Traditional D handles or Knobs compliment these doors perfectly. All of our doors are supplied sanded ready to be oiled. One of our most popular finishes is Osmo Polyx Oil in a clear natural finish, however we also offer other stains if required.

Glazed Internal Doors

We offer a beautiful selection of Solid Oak and Softwood Internal Glazed Doors available in many different styles, Modern and traditional. As each door is bespoke and made to order we can work to your exact design. They can be made with flush bottom panels, raised and fielded panels or tongue and grooved boards to the bottom.

Ovolo moulds and simple chamfers are just a few of the detailed moulds we offer on our doors. Toughened glass can be supplied for your doors from 4mm to 24mm thick, to comply with building regulations or to improve existing glazing systems you have in your home.

Internal Solid Oak Panel Doors

Our stunning solid oak panel doors are bespoke to each client. We can manufacture them in 4, 6 or eight panels to suit your individual requirements. The versatile style of these panel doors sit beautifully in Georgian / Victorian period properties and contemporary homes.

With a 40mm finished thickness of solid oak they are extremely soundproof and have the look and feel of a quality handmade door. Browns also offer these doors in softwood and other cheaper hardwoods. To compliment these doors please peruse our collection of Ironmongery in the gallery below.

Solid oak door linings are the perfect surround for our oak doors. We manufacture any size lining to suit your needs. The most commonly used lining is our solid 22mm thick sets in character grade oak.

They are great value with prices starting from just £35 + VAT for a 100mm wide oak lining set. We also offer other thickness linings eg 32mm and 45mm, by whatever width you require, depending on the depth of your walls.

Each lining set contains 2no 2.1m uprights and 1no 1.0m head, allowing them to be cut to the exact size required on site. If you have the exact sizes of your openings we are happy cut in the linings so you fit straight into the aperture. There is an extra charge for this service.

Door stop sets are also offered to fix to the lining when hanging the door. As with our other products the oak linings and oak door stop is supplied unfinished.

Browns offer a quality range of solid oak skirting boards and oak architrave. All of our products are made from solid Oak, it is a durable, hardwearing timber perfect for skirting to withstand daily knocks that occur in the home.

Skirting boards hide the expansion gap between the floor boards and the wall along with creating elegance to the room. Architrave is fitted either side of a Door, to cover the gap between the door lining and the plaster.

We supply our oak skirting and architrave in a character grade oak that is unfinished ready to be treated. We offer a range of Oil’s and Wax’s so you can archive the perfect finish you are looking for.

We offer the simple yet very popular Chamfer mould. This is our best seller as it sits perfectly in traditional and modern properties with the added value of it not being a “dust trap” like so many of the more intricate moulds of yesteryear.

Torus and Ogee are also amongst our beautiful range of mouldings that can be seen in our gallery below or in our showroom.

All of our skirting boards are available in 70mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm x 20mm thick. We can machine wider boards and sizes in-between to order. The finished thickness is 20mm or ¾”. They are supplied in random lengths ranging from 2.0m to 3.5m.

Architrave is supplied in sets. A set comprising of 2no 2.1m lengths and 1no 1.0m head 70 x 20mm section. Again this can be changed to suit your exact requirements.
