Bi-Folding Doors and Glazed Screens

Browns Joinery manufacture the ultimate in external solid timber bi-folding doors and screens. Opening up a wealth of new design possibilities. Browns bi-folding door systems have been designed to maximise the flexibility of a rooms living space, removing barriers and enabling the home owner to appreciate an indoor outdoor experience by fully opening up exterior walls.

We manufacture our bi-fold doors in a range of hardwoods from sustainable sources. Predominantly Oak , Sapele, Idigbo and Accoya which can be finished in our workshops in a range of clear oils to enhance the beautiful grain of wood or apply a full factory opaque paint finish.

Our screens and bi-folding door systems are available in a wide range of glazing specifications and coatings. We offer 24mm double glazed and 44mm triple glazed toughened or laminated safety units as standard. Using Planitherm glazing our range of coatings includes tinted glass, solar control and self-cleaning.

Browns use the highest quality German manufactured running gear and security locks. Using the best possible track systems enables us to offer ultra smooth running mechanisms and easily adjustable hinges for fine tuning.

How do they arrive?

As standard all of our bi-folding doors are fully assembled and running as a complete set in our workshops as part of the manufacturing process prior to delivery.

Once they are complete the doors are removed from the hinges and the simple four part frame is unscrewed. Each element is wrapped for protection and ready for delivery.

This pre assembly process reduces site time dramatically and we always have positive feedback that our bifolds have been fitted with ease.

Pre-Glazing is not always required, however we are happy to offer this service upon your request, along with factory finished treatment of the doors.

Three-Point Espagnolette Locking and Handles

Our range of handles to suit the 3 Point Espagnolette and Euro Lock System. These items can be supplied loose to be fitted on site or pre-hung here in our workshops prior to dispatch. Letter Box’s and door knocker can also be supplied and fitted. Our door sets are Part Q compliant with Building Regulations.

Timber and Paint Colour Options

Below is a selection of the timbers we use in the manufacture our joinery. For further information on the different species please see the technical information at the bottom of the page. We are able to offer OSMO natural wood treatment and fully factory finished painted windows in a range of colours, for example from the RAL colour range or Farrow and Ball. Fully factory finished windows and doors come with the glazing fitted for minimal site work, carried out in controlled factory conditions by our skilled craftsmen. We welcome you to see our paint and timber finishes at our showroom and workshops.

Glass Options

Each project we undertake is bespoke, therefore we can offer energy efficient double glazed or triple glazed units in a a wide range of options to suit any special requirements you may have when considering the glazing for you windows. For restoration projects requiring new timber windows and doors we can offer single glazing in a variety of forms including double glazed leaded glass.

Toughened or Laminated Safety Glass: Toughening process increases strength and safety.
Patterned and Textured Glass: A range of Pilkington patterned or textured glass for added privacy and decoration.
Acoustic Glass: Increases already high level of sound insulation using specialist laminates and thicker glass.
Solar Control Glass: Allows the heat gain from the sun to be matched to the requirements of a building.
